Growing Up
Michael was born in 1970 on Little Rock Air Force Base. Although
Michigan was their home, Michael and his parents lived in
Arkansas while his father served with the Strategic Air Command. At the end of the Vietnam War the family moved back to
Michigan, and after living in several cities in and around
Detroit they settled in
Avon
Township (now Rochester Hills). Michael later graduated from
Rochester
High School and left for college.
College and Early Career
Michael earned a bachelor’s degree from
Central
Michigan
University in 1993. After graduation he worked producing television commercials and marketing videos for various automotive manufacturers. Developing an interest in industrial manufacturing and marketing, he transitioned into advertising; gaining experience with several
Detroit area agencies.
Professional Career
In 1997 Michael accepted a sales management position with a
Pennsylvania based Tier1 pneumatic equipment manufacturer. After leading the company’s entry into several industrial markets, he was promoted to Corporate Marketing Director in 2000. In 2007 the company was sold. After the change in ownership, Michael agreed to take the helm of the distribution subsidiary Plant Maintenance Direct; which he now owns and operates.
Politics
Growing up with the Reagan Generation, Michael has always espoused fundamentally conservative values. Coming from a sporting family he is an ardent supporter of the 2nd amendment, and has been a voting member of the National Rifle Association for more than 20 years. Michael believes in limited, fiscally responsible government. As a
Michigan business owner himself he is keenly aware of the issues affecting the automotive industry and the small entrepreneur. Too many businesses have left
Michigan because of irresponsible government.
Shelby
Township
Michael has been a
Shelby
Township homowner since 1998. He has grown to love the community and it citizens. It is out of that affection that he decided to enter public life by running for Trustee. He looks forward to helping ensure the prosperity of
Shelby
Township for our families and generations to come.
